2007/8 programming is increasingly pro-active and strategically curated, where artists are invited rather than Altmusic primarily being responsive to partner organizations/festivals that are providing and selecting artists as in previous years.
Towards the end of 2007, the committee made NZ artists more of a priority, bringing up Crude, Antony Milton, Birchville Cat Motel and Sandoz Lab Technicians to play alongside the internationals and showcasing Alastair Galbraith and Peter Wright in October '08.
This year, touring was also made a priority and we successfully trialled contributing to the artists Philip Jeck and Daniel Menche touring through NZ. These events were organised by Jo Stanier-Black of Borderline Ballroom in Christchurch and Happy in Wellington. we look forward to Atmusic becoming nation-wide in 2009.
The 2008 Altmusic committee members in '08 are Zoe Drayton and Tim Coster, joined by Nigel Wright and Rosy Parlane.
