Due to Altmusic outliving its original role as a temporary part of the Artspace programme, and outgrowing Artspace's ability to administer and continue to grow such an event, Altmusic in 2007 onwards has successfully been organised under the auspices of the Audio Foundation.
Still a labour of love with no financial gain, the Altmusic committee of Richard Francis, Andrew Clifford, and Zoe Drayton were joined by Tim Coster for 2007.
This years highlight was Pauline Oliveros. This senior and celebrated practitioner agreed to come in 2005, but it took two years of work to be able to organise this with the help of a Fulbright Scholarship.
This year, many new partnerships were made with AUT, Auckland University, the STAMP under the Edge initiative and The International Film Festival.
